Lotro Housing GuideHousing in Lotro comes in three different sizes: standard, deluxe, and kinship and with three different price tags: 1 gold, 7-8 gold, and 14-17 gold. Each house allows you to have one to three 30-slot chests inside. All housing has a weekly upkeep fee and hooks in which you can place items to decorate.

Racial HomesteadsHomesteads are houses nestled together in a neighboard of similarily styled homes. There is a unique look for each of the four races in Lotro. (Any race can buy a home in a different race's neighborhood.) Each neighborhood consists of about 16 standard houses, 10 deluxe houses, and 4 kinship houses. Each neighborhood is an instance, which means Lotro will never run out of houses!
Bree-land Homesteads
Located south of the goblin marsh between Bree and Forsaken Inn
Housing Broker Locations: just outside of The Comb and Wattle Inn in Combe, and also in the center of Staddle.
Shire Homesteads
Located in South Farthing
Housing Broker Locations: at the Post Office in Waymeet, and also in the center of Tuckborough.
Thorin's Hall Homesteads
Located near Thorin's Hall - follow the road south of the stables
Housing Broker Locations: in the courtyard of both Noglond and Gondamon
Falathlorn Homestead
Located between Duillond and the portal that leads to Needlehole
Housing Broker Locations: near the docks in Celondim and also near the Scholar's Enclave in Duillond.
Housing Facts- housing hooks are limited to a certain type of item. For example, you can't put Wall Color in a Large Furniture Hook.
- access your housing options, permissions, and info by clicking on your Character Journal then the House tab
- when you abandon your house or fail to pay upkeep, all your items move into escrow for a week. You can access your items via the bank.
- chest 1 costs 100 silver, chest 2 costs 500 silver, and chest 4 costs 2.5 gold
- each neighborhood has a bank and discounted vendors that sell housing items
- there is a 24 hour waiting period after you purchase a home to purchase another.
- houses are not immediately released for sale when abandoned
- you can give your friends access to your house and storage through permissions
- get a 5% discount from your kinship neighborhood vendors - stacks with your homestead discount if it's in the same neighborhood
Rare Housing TrophiesSome creatures drop undamaged corpses or heads that you can have made into trophies. Take the undamaged corpses and heads to Clar Whitethorn, the taxidermist in Bree near the bank.
